Neighbourhood Management Pilots
The Government funded Neighbourhood Management pilots in Bristol focusing on areas within the 3% most disadvantaged in the country were set up in October 2005, the Bristol Partnership agreed to set up three pilots in the following areas:
- Ashley (St. Paul’s), Easton and Lawrence Hill
- Filwood
- Hartcliffe and Withywood
Following the announcement of the Area Based Grant in December 2007 and the announcement of the end of Safer Stronger Communities Funding (that had funded the Bristol Neighbourhood Management pilots) Bristol City Council announced reduced funding for the NM pilots for 2008/09 and the intention to incorporate the NM areas into the new Neighbourhood Partnership structure.

Neighbourhood Partnerships
The Neighbourhood Management (NM) areas sit within larger Neighbourhood partnership areas that are being introduced to cover every area of Bristol. by the end of 2008. To avoid confusion between the launch of NM and Neighbourhood Partnerships the launch of neighbourhood Partnerships will happen later in areas where there is also a NM area.
Eventually in the NM areas the plan is for Neighbourhood Partnerships and Neighbourhood Management groups to work alongside each other complimenting each other and not duplicating work.
