Bristol City Council has introduced new forms of Neighbourhood Governance across the city where local people can have more say in influencing decisions. The new local governance structure is called Neighbourhood Partnerships.

Neighbourhood Partnership Residents Forum
Voscur coordinate the Neighbourhood Partnership Residents Forum (NPRF) for anyone involved with their local Neighbourhood Partnership.
Each meeting focuses on issues affecting local Neighbourhood Partnerships and gives participants the opportunity to hear from different parts of the city what is being done to address those issues and to share their own ideas or solutions.The forums also inludes:
- Good Practice - hear what works in other Neighbourhood Partnerships
- Problem solving- finding answers to help your Neighbourhood Partnership
- Networking - meet people from other Neighbourhood Partnerships across Bristol
- Updates - find out what is happening at the Thriving Neighbourhoods Board
NPRF meeting March 2010
The next NPRF meeting will take place on Saturday 27 March 2010, 10am - 1pm (registration from 9.30am) followed by lunch. At Shirehampton Public Hall, Station Road, Shirehampton, Bristol, BS11 9TX.
The meeting theme is 'Strengthening Neighbourhoods' and will be a chance to Reflect on the first round of 'new style. Neighbourhood Partnership meetings, discus what worked well, not so well and consider ways to improve future meetings.
The meeting will also include:
- An update from Graham Sims, Bristol City Council Strategic Director of Neighbourhoods
- A chance to 'speed network'with people from other Neighbourhood Partnerships
- An introduction to 'Peak Oil' - what it is and how it could affect your neighbourhood
- A free Networking lunch
This event is being organised by Voscur as part of the Bristol Partnership's 20:20 event programme

The Neighbourhood Partnership Residents Forum Seminar took place on Saturday 19 September at the Council House.

Thriving Neighbourhoods Board
The Thriving Neighbourhoods Board (part of the Bristol Partnership - the Local Strategic Partnership) meets monthly. Neighbourhood Partnerships are represented at the meeting by Ben Barker (Greater Bedminster) - chair, Grenville Johnson (St George NP), Tracy Edwards-Brown (Bishopsworth, Hartcliffe and Whitchurch Park NP) and Liz Venn (Brislington NP). The meetings are open and any resident from a NP can attend.

Joint tasking
The TNB are supporting a new approach to multi-agency working is to be launched very soon. This approach, sometimes called Joint Tasking, brings the relevant agencies together in order to deliver the local agendas developed by Neighbourhood Partnerships/Committees. This approach will encompass crime, disorder and ‘liveability’ issues and provide a robust, committed, systematic approach to partnership delivery across the city. More details will be available soon.
