This year’s Voscur awards were one of the most fiercely contested in recent years.

The awards were made at Voscur’s* AGM & Annual Conference at the Pavilion conference centre on Wednesday 22 October.

The Voscurs are awarded to both individuals and organisations in the community, voluntary and volunteer sectors that had gone the extra mile in seven distinct categories.

Categories range from the individual contribution of trustees and volunteers to collective awards for community venues and volunteer teams.

Voscurs’ chair Richard Pendlebury said:

“These awards shine a light onto the courageous, inventive and dedicated world of volunteers and voluntary community organisations across the city.
This work is largely carried out by unsung heroes who commit boundless time, effort and energy to ensure communities and individuals who have been the hardest hit by social and economic exclusion are both supported and empowered.
All seven winners are excellent examples of this spirit as are those who were nominated and many others who make up our dynamic sector.”
