Safeguarding Children and Young People: Understanding Policy Requirements

Target Audience: Providers of services for 8-19 year olds, who intend to participate in the Bristol Youth Links procurement process.

All potential service providers will be required to complete a pre qualification questionnaire (PQQ), to ensure that they are able to deliver services to the required standard.  organisations that pass the PQQ stage will be invited to submit tenders for the provision of Bristol Youth Links services.

All potential providers will be required to submit their safeguarding policy as part of PQQ.  Safeguarding policies will need to comply with South West Child Protection Procedures and the Bristol City Council Baseline Standards.

This workshop is to evaluate your safeguarding policy against the expected standards and to consider how the policy is embedded within your organisation.

This is not safeguarding training and attendance at this workshop is not compulsory or a requirement of Bristol Youth Links pre-qualification to tender.   If you make amendments to your policy as a result, it will be possible to submit a policy that is awaiting ratification by Trustees.

The workshop will cover

-          What is safeguarding?

-          What is child protection?

-          The policy implications of the Bristol City Council Baseline Standards – safeguarding element

-          Ensuring your policy is ‘active’

This will be an interactive session and attendees are required to bring a copy of their safeguarding policy with them.

Places are limited to one per organisation.
