Ways into Work - online Accredited Course for Single Parents

Ways into Work is a new blended learning course for single parents thinking about returning to work. It takes a broad look at how to enter paid work, including volunteering, training and education as a route into employment and explores self employment as an option.

Blended learning combines online learning with face to face sessions, providing a dynamic and interesting way to learn. Learners will need access to broadband internet (or use SPAN’s drop-in on Tuesday afternoons.)

The online course asks learners to do their own thinking and reflecting and complete activities which are saved to an online portfolio and assessed.  They can gain 3 credits at Level 1 or Level 2 with the Open College Network by completing the online course. Credits could be combined with other courses to gain the Award in Progression.
