Welfare Reform Briefing for people who work in the inner city
Want to understand the changes to Welfare Reform?
Many benefit changes have already happened and more are in the pipe line. It is a complex picture and one which is having and will continue to have a significant impact on local people and many services. This briefing will give you an overview of all the Welfare Reform changes and help you think about the implications for your work and the area as a whole. Lawrence Hill ward, for example, is one of the most affected areas of Bristol because of high number of existing benefit claimants.
Places will be prioritised for people who work in the inner city wards of Lawrence Hill, Easton and Ashley.
Wednesday 1st February, 2.30-4.30pm at the City Academy.
To book a place please contact Tracy Parsons, 9039975 officemanager@eastonandlawrencehill.org.uk
We ask that you do book a place rather than just turning up. We have a limit on the number of people the room will accommodate and so we do need to know who’s attending and ideally we want everyone who wants to come to have a place.
The briefing has been arranged by Easton and Lawrence Hill Neighbourhood Management and will be presented by Bristol City Council’s Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service. The City Academy are providing the venue. We ask that attendees make a small contribution for tea and coffee which will be available on arrival.
Information for residents
The City Council’s Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service will also be presenting a 20 minute overview of changes for residents at the forthcoming Easton and Lawrence Hill and Ashley Neighbourhood Forums (dates below).
