Ebulletin Feedback 2007
We conducted a short survey in July 2007 of our ebulletin subscribers, asking them what they like and dislike about the ebulletin, and what they find most useful.
The overwhelming response was how much everybody loved the ebulletin, finding it an indispensible source of information.
We've listened to the areas people would like to see improved:
- Length of ebulletin - a few people found the ebulletin a bit too long. We're now cutting down on the length of items and including more links to our website where people can read more information if they wish to.
- Repetition - a few subscribers asked us if we could avoid repeating some events. We will try! We do need to repeat some items, in order to give people enough notice of upcoming events, and to help publicise community events.
- Plain text - the ebulletin is sent out in plain text so it is accessible. We are looking into creating an HTML version (ie more visually interesting) that people could choose to receive instead of the plain text version, but we have to negotiate the usual issues of time and money.
And here is a selection from the feedback we received:
- "I enjoy getting the Voscur Ebulletin-its definately not junk button stuff! Its there when I need it for info especially keeping up to date with the latest news and links to relevant pages. Feels something like an old friend you can rely on when needed."
- "Funding news very useful, as is the jobs listing. It's a vital service, I think, especially for those of us who would receive hardly any of this information from their own organisation or from any other channels. Overall, love it."
- "My favorite bits are the community diary, which often tells me about events I would otherwise know nothing about, and the jobs section which is great when you're recruiting or searching!"
- "I think it's great - it's one of the few ebulletins that I always make sure I read as soon as it comes in."
- "Love it. I find the format is fine and the information is very useful. Great that it just arrives on a regular basis."
- "I really value the information on the bulletin, and as a fundraiser it reminds me to look on your website, so keep it up!"
- "Find it very useful. Pass on funding and training information to community groups."
- "I love it. Think it's great. Full of useful info - especially what's going on at Council level, funding news and jobs. I look forward to receiving it each week. Well done."
- "I generally use all of it, especially the local diary and funding news. Generally I forward it to other partners too."
- "Well I find it rather indispensable, an excellent way to keep in touch with what is taking place in the rest of the city, for both work and personal needs. I also think it is well laid-out: its now familiar to navigate to specific service areas and is used frequently as a information tool."
- "I personally find them very useful and often key to my efforts to reach best practices"
- "I love the whole ebulletin and always skim through the whole thing, but I would say my favourite bits are the training notifications, community diary and job vacancies."
- "I keep recommending it to people who are looking for work!"
- "I find the e bulletin really useful - especially the job section....and it is all set out really well - ie its readable! Its great to hear about relevent local events and talks and training too....Its all good in my eyes!"
- "Look forward to receiving it - it's a good way of knowing what's going on even when (as in many small voluntary organisations) I can't attend half the events I'm sure would be useful - sure I'm not the only person in this position. I read it every week & often pass relevant information on to colleagues."
