Life Skills Worker

KYHP runs two training flats for care leavers. Each resident stays for a total for 9 weeks during which they receive training sessions in cooking, cleaning, budgeting and housing options. Care leavers are also given support around living alone and the emotional issues associated with independent living. The purpose of the training flats is to better prepare care leavers for independent living.

The worker will manage the waiting list, they would plan and provide sessions together with some back up from present staff at KYHP. They would arrange planning meeting before each stay and assessment meetings after each stay. The worker would be expected to arrange meetings with social workers and foster carers and liaise closely with the Children's Department and specifically Looked After Team social workers.
