Background Info:
BREAD Youth Project works in partnership with young people (aged 11- 25), local organisations and the communities of Greater Bristol to build up young people's skills and confidence, through informal and social education. It aims to influence youth and community work practice, to explore global issues, and to promote justice and equality. BREAD works with young people in the following ways: individual and group work, activities, residentials, training, advocacy, peer education, producing resources. Since 2001 the organisation has grown considerably. Projects that BREAD runs now include: SHPEP (Sexual Health Peer Education Project); Nwabudike (innovative training and support programme for Afrikan young men); Lawrence Weston Youth Involvement Project; Movin' On Up, providing integrated services to young people at risk of exclusion; training and consultancy service; and shared fundraising partnership. BREAD works in partnership with many organisations across Bristol, developing services and filling gaps in provision for young people.
