Update: Opportunity for Worklessness funding
Further to the recent news piece and event (Opportunity for funding to address Worklessness, 29/11/11), this update aims to keep interested parties informed about developments in this funding opportunity.
Jobcentre Plus has now confirmed that it is going to fund Bristol City Council's innovative approach. Approximately £220,000 has been allocated to this opportunity enabling the VCS to deliver these services. The local authority is working on the application process, which will be released in the New Year.
Voscur is working with the local authority to develop this opportunity following a recent briefing event (held at the Council House, 14/12/11). 35 organisations attended the event and a further 26 expressed interest but were unable to attend. During the event, VCS organisations expressed interested in support in Collaboration, Networking with other organisations interested in collaborating, and Outcomes-based commissioning.
As part of Voscur's commitment, we are offering support activities to interested VCS organisations and, therefore, are making arrangements for the following support events with the aim of building VCS collaborations and increasing knowledge of this commissioning process. Interested organisations are requested to allocate time in their diaries:
1) Briefing Session about Collaboration Models - A Briefing Session will be held in the morning of Friday 20 January 2012 and will provide information to participants about the commissioners’ preferred collaborative model (lead partner consortium) and provide further detail about the use of the Enabling Commissioning Framework template. Please note that places at this event will be limited to one person per organisation.

2) Developing Provider Partnerships and Collaborations - An Introductions/Speed-Networking event will be held in the afternoon of Friday 20 January 2012 and will provide a networking space for VCS organisations to introduce themselves, discuss their unique selling points and start their discussions about working together. Please note that places at this event will be limited to one person per organisation.
