Understanding Health and Social Care Commissioning

4 Feb 2008 - 10:00
4 Feb 2008 - 13:00

Free workshops for voluntary sector, community and social enterprise organisations in South Gloucestershire, North Somerset and BANES. Organised by the Care Forum in collaboration with the West of England ChangeUp Consortium and CSIP SW

Three half days on 4th February, 25th February, 10th March at The Care Forum, The Vassall Centre, Gill Ave, Fishponds, Bristol (the workshops are free and will include a lunch).

The voluntary sector needs to become better at selling themselves. In order to do this we must be more aware of the commissioning process, how to contact the right people and how to present our services in the most effective way. This series of workshops will be in an Action Learning style, seeking to build and develop the knowledge of those organisations taking part and enable them to be more effective in their relationships with commissioners. Each session will build on the last and respond to questions and suggestions made by the attendees.

  • How can we access the commissioning process?
  • What do commissioners want from the Voluntary, Community and Social enterprise sector?
  • What is ‘added value’?
  • How do we present our services as more outcome focussed?
  • What are your experiences good and bad?
