Diversity Challenge: Practical Tools to Break Down Barriers

29 Apr 2008 - 09:30
29 Apr 2008 - 16:30

This event will explore people’s attitudes to each other, and how this affects equality of experience and opportunity. Using this understanding we will look at ways of overcoming barriers to full participation among those you work with or seek to work with – in the workplace, or in the community. We will look at turning equal opportunity policies or diversity policies into realities, and at how this will benefit your organisation both in terms of creating a fairer, happier organisation, and in terms of legislation and PR. It will help an organisation to actively embrace diversity and challenge discriminatory practice or assumptions.
The event is suitable for those within the voluntary, community and public sectors with a remit for or interest in diversity and equal opportunities. It is suitable for policy makers and practitioners alike. Some experience of diversity issues would be an advantage.
