Kabu is hosting its 6th annual benefit night linked to International Women’s Day, with all profits going to Bristol charity, One25.

Klub Kabu is a annual club night with a difference featuring an all female DJ line-up playing everything from funky house, soul, ragga, ska, hip hop, break beat, drum&bass, techno to pure disco.

This year a we are at The Blue Mountain, Stokes Croft. Two dance floors and a balcony chillout area.

This year we will also be featuring visual projections, installations, and the Red Hot Frilly Kickers can-can troupe, the Fairy Posse,Tequilla Girls, plus fruit and ice pops to keep temperatures down.

All money raised will be donated to One25, a charity which benefits women in Bristol who are trapped in a violent and abusive lifestyle through their involvement in street prostitution.

One25 is a registered charity which benefits women exploited and marginalised through their involvement in street prostitution in Bristol. Many of these women experienced severe abuse as children and currently suffer from acute health problems, addiction, homelessness and the daily threat of violence. The charity runs an outreach van, on-foot outreach, casework support and a drop-in centre. In November 2008, One25 is planning to launch an exciting and much needed project called Naomi House; a residential family unit providing intensive, therapeutic and practical 24 hour support to drug-using mothers and their babies. The project aims to help the mothers to provide a stable, caring home, thus enabling the babies to stay with their natural parent and give them a better start in life.
