Jephson Housing Invite to Consultation Morton Street

12 Mar 2008 - 16:30
12 Mar 2008 - 19:30

Venue: Barton Hill Settlement, 43 Ducie Road, Barton Hill, Bristol.

Jephson Homes Housing Association have put forward proposals to redevelop a small site in Lawrence Hill that fronts onto Church Road, adjacent to the railway bridge and along the west side of Morton Street. Part of this site is currently occupied by a disused former car spares workshop and retail unit whilst the remaining area of waste ground is used for parking. The adjacent row of houses on Morton Street also belong to Jephson and were built in 2004 for rent.

This site already has planning permission for a development of 22 flats in a four-storey block together with 8 parking spaces.  Jephson and their design team are currently working up revised proposals for a similar level of development and would like the opportunity to share their scheme with local neighbours and other stakeholders and organisations with an interest in this site before submitting a new planning application to the City Council in the next few weeks.

Jephson's current scheme is for 14 affordable 1,2 & 3 bed apartments for shared ownership, targeted at local buyers; plus a retail unit on the corner of Church Road and Morton Street and 10 single person supported studio units for people with mental health issues. The supported housing would be operated by Second Step, who specialise in providing accommodation and assistance for vulnerable adults, and would have staff based on site.

You are invited to view an exhibition and meet the team at this meeting

On display there will be an exhibition showing the proposals for the site and a chance for people to talk through any questions or queries face-to-face with representatives from Jephson Housing, Second Step and the design team.
