A series of free workshops for anyone with a long-term health condition are being held by the Expert Patients Programme Community Interest Company (EPP CIC), at the Southville Centre in Bristol, starting on Thursday 27 March.
The aim of the workshops is to enable people with long-term health conditions to have a better understanding of their condition, to understand the impact it can have on their life and to provide participants with the support and confidence to take control of their life.
The Expert Patients Programme workshops will be delivered by two trained tutors who are also living with a long-term condition, over six weekly sessions of one and a half hours..
A number of different topics will be covered, including managing pain and feelings of depression, diet and exercise, communicating with family and health professionals, and relaxation techniques.
The workshops are to be held at the Southville Centre, Beauley Road, Southville, Bristol, BS3 1QG and are open to anyone over 18. The sessions will run every Thursday from 27 March until 1 May, from 10am until 12.30pm.
