21 May 2008 - 14:00

This conference is an opportunity to hear directly from the author of the Quirk Review – the Government's report on Community Management and Ownership of Assets. There will be a choice of workshops, presentations and a panel discussion, followed by hot lunch. The Council will be launching a new grants scheme to support the VISIBLE quality mark programme for community buildings & facilities at this event.

The conference will be chaired by Cllr Helen Holland. It is aimed at all community organisations in Bristol and will look at how community assets can be used to empower communities and create lasting change in local neighbourhoods. The VISIBLE quality mark is based on operating standards for community buildings
and multi-purpose community organisations. It is endorsed by National and Local Government and the Charity Commission and is externally verified and accredited.
