Community Development Worker - Filton
This is an exciting opportunity to really make a difference in the priority neighbourhood of Filton at a time when many organisations and agencies are working together to develop new action plans for the area. You will be working alongside the Community Engagement Officer for South Gloucestershire Council and local residents to
• Find out what people want to change in the local area
• Make sure that people have a voice in community issues, particularly those people that find it hard to get involved
• Set up new community groups and initiatives
• Contribute to the development and implementation of change
You will join our existing community development workers, and work closely as part of a dynamic and enthusiastic team
You will need
• Excellent communication skills
• A commitment to equalities
• Experience of working in the community, in either a paid or unpaid capacity
• Knowledge of the issues and opportunities facing local communities
• Flexible approach to working hours
• Preferably a qualification in Community Work or a similar discipline
• Preferably access to transport
