INTRODUCTION TO PLANNING, MONITORING & EVALUATION
Demonstrating that you are on top of your planning, monitoring and evaluation is becoming increasingly important as funders, partners and managers demand accountability, organisational learning, continuous improvement and value for money. As well as submitting their plans, organisations are usually asked to demonstrate that what they are doing works!
The day covers developing SMART objectives, outcomes and outputs as well as setting indicators and determining where you will find the information for your monitoring and evaluation. We look at different monitoring methods, such as quantitative and qualitative information gathering as well as a range of techniques including the recording of anecdotal evidence, surveys, interviews, workshops and structured observation.
This is an introductory event relevant to practitioners who have a need to sharpen their strategic planning skills, to know whether their work is going according to plan and whether it is making any difference.
