26 Sep 2008 - 09:30
26 Sep 2008 - 17:00

Venue: Turvey Abbey, Nr Bedford.  Cost: £60 including lunch (some bursaries available for the unwaged)

Our aim is to explore the meaning of home and community through in-depth consideration of the experience, and the meaning of homelessness and 'unhoused' states of mind.

Convenors

  • John Adlam ' The Unhoused Mind and the Unhomely Society'
  • Br. John Mayhead 'The stable life: living in a monastic community'
  • Christopher Scanlon 'Accomadating un-housed mind: re-membering the dismembered?'
  • Dr Jo-Ann Carlyle, Chair for the day.

The convenors are particularly interested in providing a reflective space which can facilitate conversations between people with a wide range of personal experience, differing social backgrounds, professional disciplines and religious faith - or none.

Places are limited so early booking is advised.  For further information please contact: Christopher Scanlon on 07880 501 014 or email: c.scanlon@btinternet.com or Br. John Mayhead on 01234 881 211 or email: turveymonks@yahoo.co.uk.
