Bristol Harbour Festival

The 2008 Harbour Festival will open in style on Friday night at the Amphitheatre Stage with 'Still Black, Still Proud', an African tribute to the late James Brown, led by his former band members, saxophonist Pee Wee Ellis and trombonist Fred Wesley. A stellar line-up of jazz and funk giants including Senegalese superstar, Cheikh L , Afro-beat diva Wnumi, and Bristol's own James Morton, will deliver a jubilant celebration of soul power. With support from DJ Derek, Bizali and Troy Ellis and the Longshots. Supported by Bristol Legacy Commission - investing in education, health and well-being and cultural representation projects benefiting all communities of Bristol.

The festival continues on Saturday and Sunday. With music, dance and circs on 11 stages , together with markets, childrens' entertainment, twin city celebrations and the famous Saturday night fireworks, the festival offers a spectacular array of free entertainment catering for all tastes and interests. All activity centres around the city centre Harbourside.
