Involving Marginalised and Excluded Groups in Environmental Sustainability Projects - Free Course

Venue: The Create Centre, Cumberland Basin, Smeaton Road, Bristol, BS1 6XN.

This workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to think about working with different communities, engaging with them on their own terms and drawing out their interests regarding environmental projects.

By the end of the session participants will have been given a chance to:

  • Discuss why it is important to reach other sections of the community both in general and for particular projects
  • Identify which sections of the community are currently being reached / engaged in projects and identify additional sections to reach / engage
  • Learn how to reach / engage those sections of the community
  • Understand how to monitor and evaluate reach / engagement of different sections of the community and why it is important
  • Each participant to set their own goals for broadening the reach / engagement of their project, with buddying and forum discussions for follow-up (Transition Bristol can provide a web-based forum area for follow-up).
