SAMARITANS 24:7 Day
Samaritans of Bristol are excited to announce our plans for 24:7 day. This is the national day for raising awareness of Samaritans, and takes place on Friday 27th July.
Samaritans provide confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide.
COME ON BOARD… with Samaritans, as we drive our double-decker bus through vulnerable parts of Bristol - places that have been identified as being high suicide risk areas.
As well as offering goodie bags and entertainment, we will be raising awareness of what we do, and showing how we can support our local community. There will be opportunities for members of the public to speak to a listener, or simply learn more about what how we can help.
We have already had support from local organisations in terms of allowing us to stop our bus at their sites, and engaging with the public.
We hope to see you in Bristol on 24:7 Day.
