Description:

The Care Forum (TCF) is a registered charity working primarily across the unitary authorities of Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. TCF has a turnover in excess of £1 million and employs over 40 staff and 18 volunteers. Working in partnership with local authorities, health services and other voluntary and community sector organisations our primary purposes are:

• Facilitating communication, consultation and networking for local voluntary and community sector organisations working in health and social care;
• Empowering and supporting people to voice issues about local statutory health and community care services;
• Providing free advocacy support for vulnerable individuals;
• Providing information and advice about local voluntary and statutory health and wellbeing services
• Acting as host organisation for the LINks (Local Involvement Networks for health and social care) for Bristol and South Gloucestershire

The Care Forum Board of Trustees is seeking to strengthen its expertise. The primary duty of Trustees is to govern the organisation by:
• leading, managing and setting the strategic direction of the organisation;
• overseeing the organisation’s finances and resources to ensure that they are properly administered;

We are particularly seeking interest from prospective trustees who have a legal background or experience in business development, information marketing or commissioning. In order to improve the diversity of the Board we specifically welcome applicants from black and ethnic minorities.
