The LASA Google Grant
We've recieved a letter from Terry Stokes CEO of LASA outlining the expected effects of the Google grant to the organisation
"The Impact of the Grant from Google: What this means for the Lasa Community
With the New Year firmly underway the team at Lasa have been busy drawing up plans on how to use Google’s holiday gift to support the good work being done throughout the third sector.
This generous donation enables us to continue empowering the sector to deliver services cost effectively and efficiently. With Google’s support, we can provide new ways to help our community to use technology to work smarter and improve their ability to offer social welfare law advice.
Here are a few of the benefits that our stakeholders can expect from the grant we have received from Google:-
- Improving the sector’s ability to deliver services and achieve their goals through the strategic use of emerging technologies and tools
- Closer collaboration with our partners to develop and promote appropriate internet based services to enable third sector organisations to achieve operational efficiencies and cost savings
- Support in the improvement of digital literacy and technology skills by developing creative ways to reach communities, particularly in the areas of social welfare law and training
We at Lasa will continue influencing policy and giving the sector a stronger voice for the better use of technology and, thanks to Google’s support, we can further encourage communication and collaboration amongst our community and engage with them in new and innovative ways.
Here’s what some of our community have to say about the impact of this grant:
Margie Butler, The Mary Ward Foundation – “A well deserved reward for all the innovative ICT work and international partnerships Lasa has committed to over many years. Well done!”
Gaynor Humphreys, London Funders – “It is excellent to see this bold grant-making by Google and that they are supporting work which should be of critical value to London’s voluntary and community groups.”
Andy Gregg, Charities Evaluation Services – “Great news about Google. ….we are moving into very difficult times but it is great to know that Lasa will still be able to maintain a strong presence and such a high level of service delivery over the next few years.”
Paula Graham, Fossbox - “Congratulations for this well-deserved recognition of Lasa's achievements over the past decade!”
