Representation on Strategic Partnerships
Voscur was originally set up to represent the interests of the community and voluntary sector at Bristol's Strategic Partnerships. We have proper systems of accountability and an open flow of information and dialogue between members and representatives to important strategic bodies.
Representatives are elected by the members annually. Activists who are interested in this role are nominated by a member organisation. See current reps below.
Chief Executive Responds
The Voscur reps to the Bristol Partnership and delivery groups met on Wednesday 4 June 2008 to discuss how voluntary community and social enterprise sector groups should be represented at the partnership.

How should the sector be represented on the Bristol Partnership?
Following the peer review of the Bristol Partnership work is underway to restructure and relaunch the Bristol Partnership in autumn 2008. Click here for more details on the peer review of the Bristol Partnership. Voscur will be consulting with voluntary community and social enterprise sector (VCSES) reps to the Bristol Partnership and with our members to find out how you think the VCSES should be represeneted on Bristol's Local Strageic Partnership.
Voscur members were also invited to give their views at the Voscur Assembly on Wednesday 25 June 2008.
Voscur will use the feedback from members and reps to help ensure that the VCSES has strong representation on the relaunched Bristol Partnership.
While the restructuring process takes place Bristol Partnership business has been suspended. Any vacant Voscur reps positions will not be filled until the new Bristol Partnership structure has ben finalised.

Accountability and representation - Join an Eforum and share your views
If you have questions or concerns about the work of a particular partnership then the Voscur representative is the person to contact. When people become a Voscur rep they agree to feedback to members at the Voscur Assembly, through the quarterly newsletters, and by attending relevant network meetings.
If, however, there are particular issues you want to discuss please join one of the Eforums in your area of interest and feed your views to your Voscur Reps and other members of that eforum.
Our themed eforums enable our reps to send theme-specific emails to Voscur members interested in that topic. For example, before a partnership meeting, a rep might send out an email describing what the main issues on the agenda are and asking for any relevant thoughts, opinions and questions. Replies go to the rep and other members of the list. In this way, members of the email group are able to communicate with each other at the right time.
Also, when the reps return from the meetings these lists allow them to quickly communicate any decisions made, or other important information.
These email reference groups also make it easier for us to target our communication when we need to ask you about specific parts of the Local Area Agreement, or other things which could effect our sector.
If you have any problems signing up to an eforum, please contact Matthew Symonds, email: matthew@voscur.org or phone 0117 909 9949.
