              Action Learning

              Action Learning is a creative way of finding solutions to issues you may have in your work. It helps you make sense of current issues that are affecting you at work and is an energetic, action-focused way of learning and development.Voscur has staff skilled in action learning facilitation and has run a variety of sets for Chairs, development workers and managers.

              Online Course: Effective Voluntary Sector Management

              Effective Voluntary Sector Management, launched by NCVO is aimed at people who have recently joined the voluntary sector. Volunteers and trustees can also benefit from this course. The online course is run by Working For A Charity, a project within NCVO and part of the UK Workforce Hub and is accredited by Roehampton University and the online element will provide 10 credits at HE level 1.               Training is a useful way of learning, but what are the other ways we learn. We may not always have the money to go on courses, however affordable they are. Have you thought about some other options that your staff in your organisation could do:

              Ladder4learning

              ladder4learning supports and facilitates development and learning for people and organisations in the community and voluntary sectors and social enterprises in south west England and parts of the south east. In the current economic climate, voluntary and community sector organisations will be searching for cost effective ways to help develop, retain and enhance their staff skills, the website helps by pulling together courses and resources aimed at the sector. Ladder4learning provides a dedicated helpline and comprehensive website for training and development needs as well as offering impartial, practical advice.                 Skills Audits & Training Needs Analyses

                A Skills Audit can also be called a Training Needs Analysis. This is a tool which will help you identify the skills your staff has and the skills that it lacks.

                Voscur's Skills Audit

                Voscur and Ladder4learning (Part of the Learning Curve) have developed a new toolkit for small organisations.The toolkit is for organisations to use in order to assess the training and development needs of their staff.

                This toolkit has been developed with the voluntary and community sector in mind. We hope you find it useful and a good starting point for developing your staff.

                SKiLD - Skills and Knowledge for Local Development

                The SKiLD project is run by NAVCA - National Assocation for Voluntary and Community Action. Its aim is to support infrastructure development workers to be more effective in their roles. It runs a number of low cost courses around the country and has developed a competencies framework for development workers in second tier organisations with an online facility for individuals to fill in.
