This one-day session will give you all you need to know to support refugees and asylum seekers and improve the service you offer to them. You will also think about how you and your organisation could be ‘champions’ for refugees and action plan for better inclusion of asylum seekers and refugees in your organisation’s activities. In this session you will:
- Raise your knowledge about asylum seekers and refugees in your community
- Hear real life stories from people living in Bristol of why they fled their countries
- Understand the myths around asylum seekers and refugees
- Understand the challenges that asylum seekers and refugees face in settling into their new life
- Assess how your current services could best benefit asylum seekers
