Sophie Bayley

Sophie is Voscur’s Workforce Development Co-ordinator. She has been working as a trainer/facilitator for over 15 years in a variety of roles within the voluntary and community sector and community learning. Sophie has trained in many areas, uses participatory methods and understands the need for variety for each learner- her style is informative yet fun. Sophie is also an accredited Action Learning facilitator. Sophie has been organising, delivering and promoting training for over 5 years at Voscur and is the lead trainer in the Voscur team. In September 2009 she gained her Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS Cert ED).

 

Ruth Pitter

Ruth is Voscur’s Equalities Manager. She has worked in the VCSE for 17 years; she has a wealth of experience and expertise in Equalities and diversity issues. She worked as a manager for Victim Support in which she delivered training to staff, volunteers and other agencies on a range of issues. Ruth has now been with Voscur for 7 years; she facilitates the Equalities Network and sits on a number of groups and forums to support development and sustainability of the VCSE. Her work includes designing training programmes and Toolkits on Equalities issues, and delivering an inclusive style of training. Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS Cert ED).

Eva Pollard

Eva is Voscur’s Funding Advice Worker.  She has worked in Bristol’s voluntary and community sector for over 10 years, in the fields of housing and homelessness, childcare provision and domestic violence support services.  She also spent three years with Bristol City Council’s Community Development Unit.  Eva has worked as a trainer/facilitator in a variety of these roles.  At Voscur, Eva mainly delivers training in fundraising, and can also provide Voscur members with ongoing advice and support with funding applications.

 

Sean Kenny

Sean is Voscur’s IT development and support worker. He is relatively new to the field of training, but has spent the last 22 years building up knowledge and expertise in the field of IT support. He has been working within Voscur to develop IT knowledge and expertise and believes that training will support the sector further.

 

Douglas Brown

Douglas is passionate about communication in not for profit organisations having worked in the sector in PR since 1986. In 2008 he set up Douglas Brown PR, a specialist PR consultancy for the not for profit sector aimed at developing the capacity of staff and volunteers in organisations to maximise their potential as communicators and ambassadors.
Douglas is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in which he is an accredited practitioner.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Paul Ticher

Paul has over 20 years' experience in the voluntary sector, as an information worker, manager, volunteer and board member in local and national charities.  Since 1991 he has worked as an independent consultant specialising in information management and related topics, including Data Protection.  Paul is co-author of DSC's popular 'Minute taker's handbook', has several decades' experience of taking minutes in a wide variety of situations, and has been training minute-takers since 1995.

 

Hannah Parker

Hannah is Voscur’s Community Learning Co-ordinator. She has worked within community development for the past 8 years in the VCSE sector both in the UK and New Zealand. Hannah has extensive experience as a facilitator and trainer. As a qualified Participatory appraisal practitioner she has a real passion for an informal, participatory approach to consultation and learning.

 

Vicky Harrison

Vicky has worked in the voluntary sector for 23 years, the last 12 as a consultant e.g. Business Planning, and Trainer delivering courses on more than 40 topics. The way Vicky works is flexible, creative and responsive. Vicky's training sessions offer processes that are inclusive, encompassing a variety of learning styles and levels of learning.
