Looking at the range of responsibilities Board Members have in an organisation and building on the 'Being a Good Board Member' session, this course focuses beyond legal obligations and into best practice. Topics include resolving conflicts and working strategically.

What is this course about?

This course is about how to extend your skills and knowledge to work more effectively and to lead the delivery of best practice across your organisation.

What will you learn?

  • Review the roles and responsibilities of board members
  • Analyse the strategic role of the board and areas and arguments for going beyond legal obligation
  • Identify areas for improvement
  • Identify ways to find solutions and overcome conflict and blocks to development.

Who is this course for?
Trustees who have attended our Being a Good Board Member course and have gained some experience. Experienced trustees who haven't previously attended Being a Good Board Member can also benefit from this course. 

What else do you need to know?

The type of constitution your organisation has and its legal identity.

To take part you will need a laptop with a camera, microphone, and Wi-Fi. You will not require any additional software. You will be emailed an invitation with a link to join the online training prior to the course.

Cancellations:

If you cancel your place on a training course you will need to give at least 2 weeks' notice. Less than 2 weeks' notice will result in the full cost of the course being invoiced.

If you have been offered a free place, or the training you have booked is a free session: if you do not cancel giving at least 2 weeks' notice and you fail to attend (and are unable to send someone in your place) an admin fee of £25 will be charged.

Voscur reserves the right to withdraw a course at any time. In these circumstances, participants will be offered a full refund or an alternative course or date, if applicable.
