The Interim Commission for Race Equality

Following on from the work of the Manifesto for Race Equality and its consultation with local communities, Bristol’s Interim Commission for Race Equality has now been established and endorsed by the Mayor for the City of Bristol.  Getting to this point has taken a lot of work and discussion in the background by the Manifesto Working Group (now the Interim Commission for Race Equality).

We will soon be seeking new Commissioners to run the formal Commission for Race Equality and be establishing a new Race Equality network.

We are running a special update event where we will share where we have got to so far, the structure of the Commission, our plans for the future; get your input and let you know how you can be part of the Commission or network and its work going forward.

The event will also give you the chance to influence how the council can enable a strong voice for race equality in the city.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible to share in the next leg of our long, tough journey to race equality in Bristol.
