Introduction
The Global Shapers Community is a network created by the World Economic Forum to connect young community leaders (20-29 years old) and thus leverage youth's desire for change to improve communities around the world. There are over 8,000 Shapers organised in over 400 Hubs from Shanghai to San Francisco. The Bristol Hub is a new addition to this community, as the World Economic Forum accepted our proposal on the 18th of April 2019.

Purpose of the event
We are thus organising a briefing session to answer any questions and getting to know anyone interested in learning more about the GS Bristol Hub.

Additionally, we would like to make the most of this gathering of interesting individuals to find potential solutions to a crisis that is affecting Bristol: street crime. The GS Bristol Hub believes the root of the problem is the lack of inclusion and we would like to know what you believe is the most effective way to tackle this issue. We will use the second part of the event as a solution-finding workshop to analyse, identify and discuss the most effective solutions to help reduce this problem.

Context behind the event
There have been 42 knife-related offences committed by 34 young people in 2016/17 in Bristol. In the face of this crisis, the Bristol Council has set reducing knife crime as their priority for this year.

The GS Bristol Hub is currently identifying the best way to promote opportunities to youth at risk in order to help reduce Bristol's inequality. To ensure that our approach is tactful and that we add value, we are engaging with organisations who have experience in working in this area in Bristol such as Babassa.
