Would you like a better understanding of HIV? Do you work with people who are at high risk of becoming HIV positive? Do you work with people who are maybe living with HIV?

Brigstowe’s HIV Awareness Training empowers professionals with skills and knowledge to work confidently with people living with, affected by or at risk of HIV. Our HIV Awareness Training is open to all professionals; from frontline support staff, managers or HR personnel.

Brigstowe have been offering HIV specialist services in Bristol and surrounding areas for over 22 years. We have broad experience delivering HIV Awareness Training to many different professionals including: Social Workers, Medics, Prison Services, Mental Health Care Providers and Housing Associations.

Training will:

  • Clarify the definitions and differences between HIV & AIDS.
  • Provide up-to-date information on transmission and treatment.
  • Explore stigma and prejudice.
  • Explain testing services.
  • Promote best practice when working with a person living or affected by HIV.
  • Inform participants of support available.

Training includes an HIV positive guest speaker along with information, resources, red ribbons & certificates of attendance for trainees to take home. Refreshments are provided. We train groups no larger than 15 people to ensure you get the most out of the training.

Cancellation policy

Training must be cancelled at least 14 days prior to the training date to recover full cost of training. Any refunds due to cancellations made after this date will be at Brigstowe’s discretion.
