About the Course

Good quality sleep is when you fall asleep quite easily, do not wake up fully during the night, do not wake up too early, and feel refreshed in the morning. It is not normal at any age to regularly have a lot of trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep if you are healthy. The course aims to help you to understand what sleep is and what it does for us, and how to improve the quality of the sleep you are getting.

The Course Covers:

- Sleep diaries, how to make the best use out of them

- Understanding sleep, how it works and the best resources to help

- Tailoring your sleep hygiene to improve your sleep

- Relaxation and imagery techniques and the importance of thoughts on sleep

- Lifestyle factors and how these influence sleep

- Planning ways of moving forwards and how to manage set backs

This is a closed group and so the course price covers attendance for 6 weeks.

Individual feedback:

For a small additional charge we can give you more personalised advice to help you manage your sleep problems. You will be asked to complete 2 questionnaires on your sleep and general health, and our course leader will analyse these and prepare a short, confidential support recommending steps you can take to improve your sleep. If you would like this, please contact our office to book prior to the course commencing.

What to expect

We encourage discussion but you can say as much or as little as you like. You’ll have an opportunity to try out some of the relaxation techniques during the sessions. You will be given resources each week that build into a workbook that you can refer to after the course to help you manage your sleep moving forward.
