From Marvin Rees, Mayor of Bristol:

Over the last couple of years we have developed our approach to community development in Bristol.

We have organised workshops and events bringing community workers together, supported reflective learning and networking spaces to share our experiences, and produced stories of citizen-led action to encourage more people to take action on the things they care about.

Alongside this, the recently launched One City Plan has encouraged a more collaborative and joined up approach, with a shared vision of Bristol as being a city of hope and aspiration where everyone can share in its success.

Community work is key to the success of the One City vision, so I want to invite you to join a conversation about how we can create more citizen-led social action in the city and celebrate the great work that’s already happening.

You’ll have an opportunity to:

Network and learn from colleagues and organisations from across the city

  • Share experiences on topics which are important to you around citizen-led social action

  • Learn about useful resources which can support you in your work

  • Understand more about One City and how it is relevant for the communities you work in

I hope you can join us.

Marvin

Mayor of Bristol
