The Runnymede Trust supported by Black South West Network

The Runnymede Trust supported by Black South West Network and the Race Equality Manifesto Steering Group invites you to a round table discussion looking at ethnic inequalities in Bristol.

In 2011 Bristol was ranked as the 7th most unequal district among the 384 districts in England and Wales on the Index of Multiple Inequality for the minority population as a whole. It ranked 56 in 2001. This highlights the large disparity that exists in outcomes in education, health, housing and employment between Minority populations and the White British group.

The aims of the meeting are to share results from Runnymede’s analysis of ethnic inequalities in the city; to garner expertise on the drivers of ethnic inequalities and the changes observed over the last decade; and to identify the implications of the findings and key areas where action might be taken to reduce ethnic inequalities.

There will be presentation by Dr Omar Khan and Farah Elahi about the findings of Runnymead Trust Ethnic Inequality report focusing on two key areas; Education and Employment. You can access the full report by following this link http://www.runnymedetrust.org/uploads/Inequalities%20report-final%20v2.pdf. The presentation will be followed by discussion sessions to explore the findings further and identify solutions to some of the challenges identified.
