In December 2016 five of the six equalities forums who are members of BEING (Bristol Equalities Influence and Networking Group) found they had all been unsuccessful in their applications for core funding from Bristol City Council. The Council has decided to commission a Voice and Influence Service to cover the protected characteristics, which includes: race, disability, sex, sexual orientation, age, gender re-assignment, religion and belief. Bristol BME Voice is supporting two consultation events to discuss the proposed Bristol City Council’s ‘Voice and Influence Commissioning Plan’ consultation.

At these events we will also be consulting on the ‘Your Neighbourhood, Your Support, Your Say’ consultation.

We are keen that voices from Bristol’s BME communities are heard and represented at both these consultations and we invite you to take part in either of the following two information and consultation events: -

An accessible daytime event with BSL signers:
    Thursday 10 August 2017
at the Broadmead Baptist Church on the 1ST floor Union Street (behind Tesco Express)
    from 10:30am – 13.00pm
Hosted by Bristol Older People's Forum

An accessible evening event:
    Wednesday 16th August
at the Unitarian Chapel in Brunswick Square
from 6pm - 9pm (meeting starts at 6:15pm) and light refreshments will be available
    Hosted by LGBT Bristol

Both events are organised and supported by BEING (Bristol Equalities Influence and Networking Group)
