The high response rates to last year’s Budget Consultation from people with protected characteristics, such as members of the Voice and Influence Partnership, were an important influence, and helped the council decide to increase Council Tax by 4% to help fund local services.

This year the consultation options range from making no change to a 2% increase in the amount of Council Tax you pay for general council services such as children’s services, waste and recycling, street lighting, parks, and addressing homelessness. There is also a further option for an additional increase of up to 2%, which would go towards the cost of adult social care.
