The Volunteer Organisers' Forum is used to promote and share best practice for those managing or coordinating volunteers.  We meet quarterly to discuss a variety of issues relevant to volunteering such as volunteer recruitment, employability, DBS checks, volunteer retention, thank you events, welfare reform impacts, volunteers and the law amongst others.

The aim of this course is to support practitioners and managers working in (often non-clinical) children and young people’s mental health and wellbeing settings to understand outcomes focused practice and why it is important for their organisation. Participants will understand the benefits of implementing an outcomes approach and how this could be developed at their organisation. Part of the session will cover practical aspects of choosing and using outcome and feedback measures. Participants will also be aware of the types of CORC support available and how to access this support.

Consultation for the Draft Commissioning Plan for future Targeted Youth Services, is now open for formal consultation until Thursday 27 April 2017.  The plan details the re-commissioning of youth services by Bristol City Council.

Voscur has a VCSE Advocate on the Better Care Bristol Transformation Board (BCBTB). Our VCSE Advocate has established a mechanism for the VCSE to engage, in a meaningful way, with Better Care Bristol: The Joint Working Project. We have the full approval of the Better Care Bristol Transformation and Commissioning Boards.
 
The work involves co-production and collaboration in the early stages of commissioning – it has real potential to influence commissioning processes into doing things differently.

Many organisations have submitted collaborative applications and their Memorandum of Understanding. If grant-funded, collaborations will need to develop formal collaboration agreements. This session will cover principles and the use of standard templates and will help collaborations go on to develop their formal agreements.

Develop and improve your volunteer programme by learning to use simple adaptable tools and methods that will demonstrate to your volunteers, your funders, your service users and the wider community the impact of volunteering.  This course will equip you to gather evidence which can be used to support funding applications, attract new volunteers and capture the value of volunteering within and beyond your organisation.

The Bristol Impact Fund will require effective monitoring of project outcomes and their contribution to the Prospectus impacts. In some cases, there will be a need to establish processes and baselines in the early stages. This session will cover principles of good monitoring and methodologies.

Voscur is hosting three neighbourhood based events (all events follow the same format) for potential providers of Recovery Orientated Alcohol and Drugs services to comment on the draft Substance Misuse strategy.
 
The strategy sets out plans for the re-commissioning of services by Bristol City Council. The total value of contracts is £8.5 million per annum. Contracts will be awarded for five years, with a possibility of contract extensions of a further four years.
