Bristol BME Voice, Avon Fire & Rescue Service and partners have joined together to host an event to help make home safety a priority to BME communities.

The fire service has identified that specific communities are more vulnerable to fire and accidents in their homes which could prove fatal. This event will highlight how people can be better protected in their homes and the steps that the fire service can take to support them. This includes fitting or updating new smoke alarms, advice to reduce hoarding, cooking advice, the support available for vulnerable residents (for example those living with dementia or in isolation) and support around specific cultural traditions and needs.

This informative event is open to all service providers supporting BME communities, and to individuals who want to find out more about how people can be safer in their homes. All welcome to attend.

Thursday 19 October 2017, 9.30am - 1.00pm (finishing with a networking lunch)
