MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS (HALF DAY) TRAINING
OVERVIEW:
This workshop intends to broaden people's view of what mental health is, what it means to have a mental health condition and how we can help to reduce stigma, so everyone feels included, supported and able to live and work well. We will also look at the factors that promote recovery and wellbeing and find ways to talk about mental distress in a sensitive way.
WORKSHOP COVERS:
Understand the stigma that surrounds mental health in the workplace
Increase awareness of attitudes towards mental health and illness
Recognising the continuum of mental health and who is effected
Identifying key factors that affect mental health and wellbeing
Recognise and understand some of the most common signs and symptoms of mental health conditions
Clarifying services that are available and considering what is helpful for people experiencing stress or mental distress
Acquire the confidence to deal with people who may be experiencing mental health problems
To think about how we look after our own mental well-being and how this relates to supporting others.
This popular course is suitable for people who wish to learn more about mental health.

Buses

Parking
From Monday to Saturday on Old Market Street at the front of the building you can park from 9.30am to 4.30pm – 30 mins free of charge (with ticket from machine) or up to 2 hours paid (see ticket machines for prices). There’s no parking between 7am and 9.30am, or between 4.30pm and 6.30pm.
The nearest parking meters are at the back of the building on Redcross Street – about 100 metres away. Walk through Redcross Mews to reach our offices via the archway.
For visits of over two-hours, there’s a car park at Gardiner Haskins’ store – a five-minute walk, entrance on Unity Street.
Start and finish times:
Please arrive at 12.45 pm for a prompt 1.00 pm start, finish time will be 4.30 pm.
Accessibility:
Unfortunately Bristol Mind premises are not wheelchair accessible.
Refreshments and Comfort:
Light refreshments and breaks will be available during the afternoon.
It is always difficult with a large group of people attending to find exactly the right temperature, so please dress in layers so that you can be as comfortable as possible.
Cancellation or unforeseen difficulties:
If you are unable to attend, please can you let us know as soon as possible by emailing training@bristolmind.org.uk Cancellation less than 4 weeks before date of delivery of the first training session, will incur a cancellation charge of 50% of agreed fees and cancellation less than 2 week before date of delivery of the first training session, will incur a cancellation charge of the full agreed fees.
