What does your organisation do?
Bristol Family Mediation (BFM) offers a service that enables couples whose relationship has broken down to make decisions face-to-face. Mediation aims to improve communication, reduce bitterness and benefit children who may be affected. It is an alternative to using solicitors to negotiate a settlement or having decided by a court.
At BMF, separating couples can discuss issues such as how best to separate housing, arrangements for children, parental responsibility, involvement of new partners, division of assets and financial support. Children can be consulted where necessary. Grandparents or other family members may also use the service.<br> Our mediators are fully trained and will not take sides, tell clients what to do or make decisions for them. We can offer the service free to those who financially qualify. We offer free initial interviews to help decide whether mediation is suitable for their needs and circumstances.
