The Government is planning to tighten regulation of the internet so that the UK is ‘the safest place in the world to be online’. This winter it put forward proposals that will, if implemented, require the cooperation of a broad range of stakeholders, spanning the public, private and third sectors. The Government is planning changes to statutory guidance around safeguarding children. It has opened a consultation around the proposed changes and is calling for feedback and input. The deadline is 31 December 2017.

Bristol City Council is now consulting on the Bristol Behaviour Change for healthier lifestyles programme, which is designed to meet the needs of people in the city who wish to change their lifestyle behaviour.

This programme represents a significant change to the current service provision for the lifestyle factors of diet, smoking, physical activity, alcohol and the NHS Health Check programme.

This is an opportunity to add the experience and expertise of the VCSE sector to the conversation.

How to take part

After the passing of new legislation regarding radicalisation and extremism, Voscur will be offering training in response to increasing concerns about the Prevent Duties imposed by the Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015.
