The European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme has announced a call for proposals to support young people (age 16-24) not in education, employment or training (NEETs). Summary details are as follows.

Aim: The ambition in the West of England area is to ensure that young people and adults are equipped with the skills, resilience and support they ultimately need to secure and sustain employment.

Applications open: 3/7/18

Deadline: 11/9/18

Funds: £2million, minimum bid £400,000

50% match-funding is required

Duration: up to 3 years

Voscur is reminding VCS organisations that provide Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) services that it can support them with partnership and collaboration support.

This follows the launch of a Bristol City Council consultation on commissioning and funding models for IAG services, which include advice on benefits, employment and debt.

Voluntary organisations, charities schools and pre-schools can apply for grants of up to £500 from the WHSmith Trust. The WHSmith Trust is an independent registered charity that uses the proceeds of the compulsory carrier bag charges across the UK to offer the grants to support good causes in the local communities where WHSmith operates.

There are two application rounds each year.

A new programme from Arts Council England, Developing your Creative Practice has been designed to support the development of independent creative practioners working in dance, theatre, music, visual arts, literature, combined arts or museums practice. The aim is to offer practitioners the time and space to work on ambitious and innovative research and development opportunities to make a step-change in their practice.

Help the Homeless makes grants of up to £5,000 to small and medium sized charitable organisations (with a turnover of less than £1million) whose aim is to help homeless people return to the community and enabling them to resume a normal life. The Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust has announced that Grant Round 3 for 2018 – for £1,000 grants – will open on 1st July 2018. To apply for this grant round, applicants must meet the following criteria: 

  • The project must relate to the Community
  • The charity’s operating income AND operating expenditure must be a maximum of £1,000,000.
