The Woodward Charitable Trust primarily funds charitable organisations (charities, social enterprises and community interest companies) in the UK and can make grants for overseas projects usually via UK charities. Priority is given to projects make good use of volunteers, encourage past and current users to participate, ensure that funds awarded are being well used and fall within the following areas:

The St James's Place Charitable Foundation offers grants to hospices to support projects that will make a tangible difference to people who provide unpaid care for terminally ill friends or family. (i.e. informal carers or care givers). Grants of up to £40,000 will support projects running over a period of 18 months that will help hospices to initiate or build on a hospice enabled approach to supporting carers by, for example:

Schools, colleges and youth groups can receive up to 80% towards the costs of providing environmental outreach education for groups of disadvantaged young people through the Field Studies Council's Kids Fund.

The Field Studies Council is an independent educational charity committed to raising awareness about the natural world and works through a network of residential and day Centres in the UK to provide outreach education and training.

A £23 million programme to help the brightest pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to reach their educational potential has been announced by the UK government.

Opening in Autumn 2018, state-funded schools and multi academy trusts, charities and research organisations, independent schools and universities will be eligible to apply.

Funding through the Future Talent Fund will support projects delivered in in non-selective, state-funded secondary schools in England.

Trial projects will begin in January 2019 and the scheme will run until 2020.

Schools and local community groups can apply for funding of up to £2,000 for projects that improve the local physical environment and also benefit the wider community.

The Greggs Foundation Environmental Grant Scheme is funded by the 5p levy on carrier bag sales in Greggs shops.

Tackling larger and more complex funding bids can be a daunting prospect, but with a little forward planning and a few “tricks of the trade” you can ease the stress and increase your chance of success. This workshop is for anyone who’d like to improve their bidwriting skills, and/or who is looking to tackle larger, more complex applications.

As part of its commitment to increase the diversity of the fundraising profession, the Institute of Fundraising has launched a new bursary/Access Fund to enable a wider diversity of fundraisers to attend their annual Convention.

This fundraising Convention is the largest event for professional fundraisers in Europe. Taking place over three days in July, the event brings together a mix of experience from the charity sector, and engages attendees through multiple sessions per day, within broad themes.


This workshop is a chance to think about how to make the best case you can to be shortlisted for the Pitch your Project event on the evening of Thursday 5 July 2018. We'll look at the application process, how to put your project across well and what you'll need to do if you are successful.

Grants of up to £600 (in exceptional cases £1,000) are available for projects that tackle marine litter. The funding is available to marine conservation charities and not for profit organisations for projects that clean beaches and provide recycling options for materials gathered.

Individuals and charitable organisations within the UK can apply for grants of up to £10,000 (£5,000 for individuals) to support the needs of adults and children with physical disabilities in England.

Funding is available to assist those individuals with a disability to improve their physical, psychological and emotional well-being. In the case for funding for individuals applications must be supported and completed by a third party sponsor. A sponsor could be, for example, a health/personal care professional, social worker or charity /support group representative.
