The next deadline for applications to the Friends Provident Foundation - Building Resilient Economies programme is 12 noon on the 23rd April 2019.

Schools, youth groups, not for profit organisations and charities have until the 28th February 2019 to apply for grants of £500 to £2,500 to support recreational trips or holidays within the UK between the 1st February and 30th April 2019 for groups of children experiencing disadvantage or who have disabilities. Children need to be aged 13 or under to qualify.

The Dunhill Medical Trust offers two funding schemes for community-based organisations which work directly with older people who need some form of extra support to make everyday living that bit easier:

Small grants of up to £200 and large grants of up to £2,000 are available for groups and organisations planning an activity for National Vegetarian Week (13-19 May 2019). Those eligible for grants include not-for-profit organisations (such as Brownies, Scouts, schools and youth clubs), informal groups of friends, parents or students, and student societies for vegetarians or vegans. 

If you are applying for a larger grant, your proposed activity should make a bigger difference to those involved.

Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust

The Sylvia Adams Trust supports work with early-years children that will be targeted at those children in most need. They are looking to increase both reach and impact for these children by supporting Registered Charities for 1,2 or 3 years. There is no minimum and the maximum grant size is £50,000 per annum.

Local authorities, charities and other third sector organisations, and holiday club providers are being invited to apply for a new £9 million fund to coordinate the delivery of free holiday clubs for disadvantaged pupils.

Smaller charities and Special Needs Schools in the UK with an annual income of under £1 million can apply to for grants of up to £10,000 to support projects that provide services to young people (under the age of 25) who suffer from physical or mental health difficulties or conditions, a life-threatening degenerative illness, or who are disadvantaged. The funding is being made available through the St James's Place Charitable Foundation and applications can be submitted at any time.

BBC Children in Need has opened its main grants programme to non-profits and charities, with grants of over £10,000 available for charities for up to three years. The grants are designed to help disadvantaged children aged under 18, such as those who have experienced illness, neglect, abuse, disability or poverty.

Whilst there is no upper limit to grant value, most grants awarded tend to be below £40,000 per year.
