The West of England Civil Society Partnership (WoECSP) has outlined the role that many Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector organisations are playing in coordinated efforts to respond to coronavirus.

The CQC has released interim guidance on DBS and other recruitment checks for providers recruiting staff and volunteers to health and social care services in response to coronavirus.

The interim guidance has been launched after temporary changes were made to the DBS applications processes.

Sport England are concerned about the financial impact of coronavirus on the sport and physical activity sector, and are looking at options to help mitigate this.

In February 2010, a major review of health equity in England was published, called Fair Society, Healthy Lives (The Marmot Review).

 

Forced Marriage Training (CPD accredited – 1 hour) with The Sky Project, a registered Bristol charity working to reduce the number of forced marriage cases in Bristol and the South West.

Sabeena Pirooz will be running another CPD accredited training session for 1 hour. Tickets are £10, plus a small administration fee, which will go straight back into the charity.

A free event run as a collaboration between Self Injury Support and Self Injury Self Help for anyone interested in raising awareness and breaking the stigma surrounding self-injury. This afternoon aims to provoke discussion, provide learning opportunities and connect individuals and organisations who want to gain clarity about the hidden issues surrounding self-harm.

Funding is available from This Girl Can, thanks to National Lottery grants, for projects that help remove barriers to exercise for women aged 16+, such as the cost of childcare or a lack of local opportunities. 

VCSE organisations, including charities voluntary clubs, community groups and Community Interest Companies, can apply for up to £10,000 (occasionally larger sums are granted).

This study day is for all health, social care and allied professionals who want to learn about neurological symptoms and symptom management, along with what support is available in the Greater Bristol area for people living with a neurological condition.

Organised by the Brunel Neurological Alliance and hosted at Clarke Willmott Solicitors, Bristol City Centre, the event promises to be a useful and informative day for anyone working with clients living with and affected by a neurological condition.
