The Charity Commission has updated its guidance on how workers or volunteers can report wrongdoing at a charity.

The updates mainly focus on broadening the definition of safeguarding and what should be reported.

Charities are being warned to be vigilant for scam emails claiming to be invoices from the Funding Regulator.

Invoices claim to be for Fundraising Preference Service costs and are being sent from a fake account: levy@fundraisingregulator.org.uk.

A serious case review published by Bristol Safeguarding Children Board has stated that agencies working with children and families in the city need to provide a more robust response to child-to-parent or child-to-sibling violence.

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) is consulting on a draft code of ethics.

The code is aimed at helping organisations to review their policies and practices in order to update them in line with their purpose and values. It seeks to provide an overarching set of principles that reflect values shared across the charity sector.

The Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse recently met with Bristol’s black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) community leaders to raise awareness of the Truth Project. Voscur representatives from BME Voice and Influence and the Bristol Sexual Violence Support Consortium attended.
 
Victims and survivors of child sexual abuse spoke at the event last week, as well as the Head of Inquiry Office for the South West, David Poole.

Sexual Violence Services in Avon and Somerset have launched a workforce survey to see how services could be improved for survivors of sexual violence. They welcome your contribution and ask you to please share with others in your organisation and wider networks.
 
The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete and the deadline is 12 midday on Monday 18 December. If you would prefer not to answer all questions, please just focus on those you do feel able to answer. All responses are anonymous.
