Like other cities, Bristol is experiencing an incredibly fast rise in the number of grass-roots groups emerging in response to the pandemic and its consequences. We’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone in all communities across Bristol for this amazing response. 

 

Come and meet the magristrates at Bristol Civil Justice Centre's open day, and find out about becoming a Family Court magistrate to help local children.

There are currently vacancies for magistrates across Avon, Somerset and Gloucestershire. Magistrates are volunteers who serve the community either in a family court setting or a criminal court setting. You do not need formal qualifications or legal training to become a magistrate, but you will be trained in the role.

Bristol City Council and a range of organisations from the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) sector have teamed up to make 2020 the Year of Can Do - a year-long programme inspiring community involvement and acts of kindness across the city.

Knowle West Media Centre, Link Age, Up Our Street and Voscur are amongst the organisations involved in shaping the Year of Can Do. 

Activities will be organised and promoted through the Can Do Bristol online platform.
