The Volunteer Organisers' Forum is used to promote and share best practice for those managing or coordinating volunteers.  We currently meet quarterly to discuss a variety of issues relevant to volunteering such as volunteer recruitment, employability, DBS checks, volunteer retention, thank you events, welfare reform impacts, volunteers and the law amongst others.

Tech4Good Bristol is a free quarterly event for people who are interested in using digital technologies (web, mobile, data) for social good. These events are great opportunities to learn what others are trying, see successful projects and platforms, hear about developing technologies, make new friends and collaborate on new projects.

  • Ensure your recruitment process is volunteer-friendly
  • Support, develop and retain your volunteers, including effective supervision techniques
  • Help your organisation to value volunteers.

Voscur's Boost! Project matches community organisations with skilled volunteers to complete a short term piece of work that builds capacity. The main activity of Bristol Drugs Project (BDP) is to reduce alcohol and drug related harm which they do through a variety services.

What does social value mean? How do commissioners design services to create it? And how do organisations work to build it with their clients and communities?

This toolkit aims to bring commissioners and organisations together to agree what social value means and how to create more of it locally.
