Here at Jacari, we are very excited to announce that Alex Raikes MBE, Director of Stand Against Racism and Inequality (SARI), will be coming to do a talk on the issues around hate crime for immigrant and BME communities in Bristol. SARI is an amazing Bristol-based charity that provides support for victims of any type of hate crime including racist, faith-based, disablist, homophobic, transphobic, age-based or gender-based.

The Mayor and Chief Executive of Bristol City Council have offered to host a Corporate Strategy consultation event especially for local voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations. 

This event is taking place to ensure that local organisations have an opportunity to hear from and have a conversation with city leaders about the impact of cuts to local authority budgets.

Bristol's five year challenge – Tackling Inequality event to discuss the draft Corporate Strategy

Following the launch of Bristol City Council’s draft Corporate Strategy consultation seeking people’s views on a draft five-year plan for the city, Mayor Marvin Rees would like to invite you to an Equality and Diversity event to discuss the city’s future. The draft Corporate Strategy details the challenges for the city and outlines possible solutions to a budget gap of at least £92m from April 2017 – March 2022.

There is strong support for its more established cultural sector but what of the thriving grassroots activity in different parts of the city and the benefit it plays in the health and wellbeing of people's lives. How do we better value and recognise these types of cultural interactions, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility? How do we amplify and embed the voluntary community sector into future cultural agenda?
